Here at The Indie Scene, we thought it would be hard for Swansea hailing indie rock band Taxi Rank to follow up their 2020 single Rainbow Sands. But yet again they have got the listener in the palm of their hand with their new release in the form of Golden Days.

The track revels in late 2000s indie influence with Circa Waves sounding guitar licks, drums that sound straight out of a Two Door Cinema Club song and Larkins-esque vocal stylings.

With ample peaks and falls, this track will have your ears glued throughout the entire runtime.

Talking to lead guitar player Matt Kivi he explains the song resembles the “feelings of the forgotten youth and the expectation of how much they should have achieved by the 20s”. However, overall, he says the song “personifies the past as an old friend that will always be around.”

While the band have been sat on this song for a while, recording in October of 2020, Kivi assures this is only the beginning of what is yet to come from the band. The end of lockdown in the UK welcomes the long-awaited return of live music and the Cymru collective are already on track booking their first headline show back.
