Bearded Theory announces 1st names for 2027

The festival will turn 18 with the help of headliners Public Enemy and Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls.

After the roaring success of this year’s edition, Bearded Theory have come out of the blocks fast with the first names for 2027. Topping the bill are East Coast rappers Public Enemy and a UK festival exclusive from Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls.

Sharing the bill are ska legends The Interrupters, synth-pop heavyweights Hot Chip, indie rockers Super Furry Animals, punk duo Bob Vylan and Manchester’s Westside Cowboy, who have just released their lauded debut album. Elsewhere, names like Brighton’s Lime Garden, Man/Woman/Chainsaw (who have also just released a debut album), sister duo ALT BLK ERA, Berlin’s Anna Erhard, psych-punkers The Lovely Eggs, English-Icelandic band Dream Wife, junglist Goldie, post-punker TTSSFU and up-and-coming garage rockers Tooth will also be performing.

Set across eight different stages and areas, the festival will continue its commitment to providing a space where everyone feels welcome. The Pallet and Meadow stages will be where you’ll find the biggest names; the Woodland stage offers a magical hideaway with unplugged sessions; Big Ed and CODA are dance music central; The Knockerdown will provide an arts programme and Q&As by day before turning into a karaoke spot at night. At Convoy Cabaret, Busk Top, Maui Waui and the Something Else Tea Tent, you’ll find a mix of experiences, showcasing a whole host of undiscovered talent.

The wellness and crafting area EARTH will bring a peaceful retreat for anyone looking to unwind between sets, including encouraging eco-conscious creativity and activities, from pottery painting and basket weaving to immersive workshops.

The Festival School, a UK first, returns to the Children’s Area for 2027. It offers free places, a full curriculum and lessons that include maths, mindfulness and DJ workshops. The school covers children from Reception to Year 10. The first enrolments have already taken place, leaving Years 6 to 10 at capacity. If your child is in Years 2 to 5, you can find the opportunity to secure a spot for them here.

Bearded Theory offers attendees the opportunity to pay monthly with instalment plans, allowing buyers to spread the cost up until May 2027. For more information on payment plans, camping and facilities, find out more here.

Bearded Theory 2027 will take place at Catton Park in Walton-on-Trent, Derbyshire, from the 26th to the 30th of May.
