Liverpool rock band Crawlers have announced their debut album, The Mess We Seem to Make. Proceeded by their first two EPs, their debut record is set for release on February 16th on Polydor Records.

The band formed in 2018 and saw success with their single Come Over (Again) blowing up on TikTok. Following the single’s success, the band set out on tour with sold-out shows filling up various venues around the UK. Opening for infamous rock band My Chemical Romance and getting a TV slot on Doom Patrol with their debut single So Tired, it’s been an upward climb for them.

Starting as a passion project, Crawlers stated that when they formed years ago “our goal was to be a band who create albums with all our hearts involved”. Proclaimed as their “proudest work”, the record will see the band members at their most vulnerable with their audience. The lead single, Would You Come to My Funeral?, follows this ideal with an introspective and poignant track about past love and existential dread. The bittersweet feeling of mourning a lost love leads to the question its title poses, and all of the mixed bag of emotions that come with pondering it. An alt-rock banger, the thrashing drums, melodic riffs, and the unique voice of Holly Minto come together to make a standout Crawlers track.

The music video for Would You Come to My Funeral? is, of course, set at a funeral. Filled with alternative fashion galore, chaotic energy, and the band having a bit of fun rocking out, it’s a great accompaniment to the track. There’s even a cheeky hidden fan surprise at the end that bids goodbye to their previous era; perhaps serving as a nod to the band’s notion in regards to their new record that “in every ceremony of death comes new life”. It’s all the awesome energy that makes Crawlers the fun and fabulous band that they are.

Built out of the group’s love for one another, many years of patience and a hearty fanbase to back them, Crawlers are finally ready to put themselves out there; for real this time. A fuse of perspectives on all kinds of relationships and their politics, the Liverpool stars aren’t shying away from anything they want to be. What comes of it will be revealed one step at a time, and then within the record itself.

The Mess We Seem To Make will be released on February 13th via Polydor Records.
