BRIT Award-winning Jungle announce their 5th album ‘Sunshine’
The band dropped new single ‘Carry On’ and announced a world headline tour for late 2026 and early 2027.
Jungle have been making perfectly sun-kissed music for over ten years, and they’re one of the few bands that have an unskippable discography. Both their sound and branding have always been consistent, and it seems that the new album, Sunshine, will be no different.
The album cover itself sticks with their simple but instantly recognisable design: a block coloured background with the band’s logo plastered over the top, which fits seamlessly with the rest of their music.
If the single, Carry On, is anything to go by, it will harness that same genre-blending and instantly euphoric sound that you can’t seem to hear anywhere else in music today.
The single, which was released on Tuesday, opens with Lydia Kitto’s gorgeous voice and a quiet percussion-based backing track and, as the first chorus rings out, the music swells, and those signature harmonies from the backing vocals layered on this track kick in. It definitely feels like a more vocal-based track in comparison to their last album, Volcano, but it undoubtedly fits so well with their musical style.
I’m excited to see what the rest of this album brings, whether that be this more gentle sound (perhaps influenced by Lydia Kitto’s project, Loaded Honey, whose 2025 debut album, Love Made Trees, I cannot recommend highly enough), or more dance-based tracks like their huge hit Back On 74, taking the world by storm back when it was released in 2023.
Along with releasing new music, Jungle have announced a worldwide tour — covering three different continents and bringing their music to stadiums from Copenhagen all the way to Brisbane. Having headlined All Points East, the band are no strangers to putting on a fantastic show, and it’s sure to be one not to miss, as I can see the high-energy tracks translating fabulously to a live audience itching to dance.
One applaudable element to the tour is that Jungle isn’t just stopping off at capital cities (as many bands sadly seem to do these days), but have extended their performances to other cities, ones that perhaps don’t get that worldwide tour treatment as often as they should. Stopping in the UK at Leeds, Cardiff, Dublin and Glasgow, as well as the typical London and Manchester dates, allows fans outside of the two major cities to be able to see a band as well-known and incredible as Jungle without needing to travel excessively for it.
Sunshine is out August 14th via Caiola Records / AWAL. Pre-save and pre-order the album here.
