One of London’s most exciting live bands, Man/Woman/Chainsaw, have announced that their debut album Cannonball will be released on August 7th via Fiction Records.

Alongside the news, the art-punk six-piece shared their latest single Nosedive —a synth-led bop that explores the pull between comfort and freedom in a relationship. Featured on the album alongside previous single Only Girl, Nosedive unfolds through the metaphor of an injured bird seeking shelter, packed with intriguing, off-kilter details and anchored by a danceable rhythm that builds towards a fluttering, lift-off finale.

‍True to its name, Cannonball will see Man/Woman/Chainsaw launch into the experimental spotlight. Across 11 tracks, the band lean into both the grandiose and the immensely honest, while continuing to embrace the unconventional song structures that have become their signature. As drummer Lola Cherry put it: “We were talking about having a whole record of bangers – having everything be really in your face.”

Recorded with Seth Evans (Geordie Greep, Black Midi) and Margo Broom (Fat White Family, Big Joanie), the album channels the chaos and intensity of late teens and early twenties life, further cementing the band’s reputation as fearless experimenters and vital new songwriters.

Man/Woman/Chainsaw will also tour the UK and Ireland this September and October in support of the record.

Cannonball will be available on eco-mix black vinyl, a limited-edition berry coloured LP with signed insert, and a Rough Trade exclusive blue and clear splatter edition LP paired with a bonus 7" available nowhere else. Pre-order here.
