Masayoshi Takanaka set to perform at Crystal Palace Bowl

The Japanese musician will perform a 2-hour set as part of the City Pop Waves presents show.

As an iconic venue that hosted Bob Marley’s final performance, it feels fitting to be hosting such an iconic musician. The festival will be bringing Masayoshi Takanaka to headline on Friday, August 7th.

Much loved throughout the UK, the internet is buzzing with the news that Takanaka is on the way with his uplifting beachy vibes. He played to a sold-out Brixton Academy in March to the next generation of city pop fans, and the city is asking for more!

The musician joins a huge line-up of incredible day festivals throughout July and August, with the likes of Grace Jones and Lenny Kravitz also headliners.

Palace Bowl Presents is shaping up to be unmissable, with a festival for everyone. In their first year, they’ve truly pulled out all of the stops.

Joining Takanaka on the line-up is Japanese singer-songwriter Junko Yagami, Himiko Kikuchi performing Flying Beagle and indie soul act Ginger Root ditching their usual set-up and manning the DJ decks for a guaranteed-to-get-you-dancing set.
