After the success of their 5th album, RUSHMERE, and their 22-date UK and Europe tour — with the UK leg kicking off next week in Newcastle — the London band have already announced a following sixth album.

On the album, Marcus Mumford said, “We feel like we’re hitting our prime as a creative force. We’re putting everything we have into this now, and we’re using everything about our experience so far to embrace exactly who we are. We’re comfortable in our skins these days. And Prizefighter is us going for it — serious and playful, sometimes bruised and always hopeful. We’re nowhere near done yet.”

“I hope and believe and we’re in the beginning of something we don’t want to let up on. I’m more excited to be in this band than I’ve ever been.”

In support of their next album, the band will be heading out on a three-date tour, stripping the album back in an acoustic setting. The mini tour will see them take Prizefighter to Manchester’s Albert Hall, Nottingham’s Rock City and Birmingham’s O2 Institute in February.

The album announcement comes alongside a collaboration with friend and fellow musician, Hozier, with whom the band performed on stage back in 2017 with, and a collaboration between the two has been a long time coming. Rubber Band Man is the first taste of what’s to come — the rest of the album features collaborations with Gigi Perez, Gracie Abrams and Chris Stapleton.
