Ey up cockers! Grab your Wigan Kebabs (Pie in a barm for those who aren’t equipped with our culture) and head down to Robin Park this July. Richard Ashcroft, The Verves’ front-man, comes home for his much-awaited return spanning over two nights due to demand. Ashcroft hasn’t played in Wigan since The Verves’ last gig at Haigh Hall over 25 years ago to 35,000 people, which will forever be an iconic moment in history.

Wigan Warriors Chief Executive Kris Radlinski comments, “…Fast forward 26 years, and one of the most iconic rock and roll singers of all time, Mr Richard Ashcroft, is set to make a triumphant return to Wigan. This is a realisation of a goal we’ve pursued for nearly a decade.” As a fellow Wiganer myself, to see such an icon like Ashcroft come back to his roots helps to prove that, despite being a small town, the sheer music talent from us is immense – take The Stanleys, a fellow Wigan band, who are set to support Ashcroft on Sunday night along with The Royston Club

Richard Ashcroft will play Robin Park Arena on July 20th and 21st. Get your tickets below.
