Social Distortion kickstart new era with the announcement of ‘Born to Kill’
The iconic punk rockers behind albums ‘Mommy’s Little Monster’ and ‘Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell’ release title track off upcoming album, their first in 15 years.
The punk rock legends are well and truly back. Social Distortion, who last put out an album in 2011 with Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes, have announced their upcoming eighth studio album, Born to Kill. With it comes their title track, a pint-ful of adrenaline echoing the best of old-school classic rock.
The lyrics are defiant, irreverent and in your face (“Look out man, you’re in my pissing range”) and the guitars are sharp as a Bowie knife. The band’s frontman, Mike Ness, may be in his 60s, but every inch of the group’s new era feels like adolescent punk-rock in its purest form. Rock not only thrives in 2026, but it feels cool again.
