The Last Dinner Party announce their sophomore album ‘From The Pyre’
The British band shared the announcement alongside the release of their latest single.
In tandem with the release of their hotly anticipated single, This Is The Killer Speaking, The Last Dinner Party announces their next album, From The Pyre.
The London-based group shot onto the scene in 2023 with their hit debut album, Prelude to Ecstacy. Their distinct visual identity and baroque pop sound resonated with many, making the band an overnight success story. While the triumph of their debut album might make it a tough act to follow, the band approached From the Pyre with a sense of creative freedom rather than succumbing to the pressure of trying to one-up themselves.
The band had teased this new era on their website, which features a clip of a bonfire and a link to sign up for their newsletter, which simply says, “mythologise thyself”.
The new album will feature nine other tracks in addition to This Is The Killer Speaking, all exploring the concept of mythologising the mundane with the band describing the song’s focus as “a commonplace life event pushed to pathological extreme”. Fans can expect the band’s signature theatrical flair to colour the album, albeit while exploring darker themes reflective of our current climate.
From The Pyre is set to release on October 17th via Island Records. Pre-order the album here.
