Fast Money Music — the solo project of American musician and producer Nick Hinman — has had a hell of a few months. His last three singles, Round and Round, Crocodile Tears and Lover Boy are all strong indie releases, and now comes a fourth, Unfortunately

There’s more than a little of Springsteen’s Dancing in the Dark in the melody, but the track retains its alt modernism, with nuanced chord progressions and sparing uses of the synthesiser.

For fans of old-school noughties indie rock (The Vaccines, The Libertines, Kaiser Chiefs), this is definitely one to watch out for. It’d get the housemates buzzing at pre-drinks, and it’d sound great belted from the soundstage. Fast Money Music’s debut, Fast Money Music, looks set to be one of this year’s best.

Live Dates:

Friday 13th February - Oslo, Hackney

Fast Money Music is out April 17th via Sick Records. Pre-order the album here.
