Finding Bella erupt onto the scene with debut single ‘Good Right Now’

Step aside clean-cut indie rock, Finding Bella are here to add a splash of dirty synth to the canvas. Good Right Now is their breakout single of self-expression, and I have no doubt this debut track will plant their flag firmly on the map of indie rock.

The grungy guitar riff that kicks off the single hooked me instantly and, as soon as the rest of the band kicked in, I knew I was in for a treat. Ben White’s hypnotic synth reminded me of the opening to Keane’s Is It Any Wonder, but these newcomers have turned it into so much more. Coupled with Woodward’s driving percussion and Hadfield’s addictive and bold bass licks, the group create a thick and punchy sound.

Oliver White’s strong vocals carry through the beautifully blended levels of the band and are a shining example of why sometimes, less is more. The clear and consistent tunes of the lyrics are a perfect offset to the more complex melodies created by the rest of the band, adding yet another layer to this track. Finding Bella then kicks it up yet another notch with an intoxicating guitar solo from Black that embodies their trademark rich and dynamic sound.

Good Right Now itself is a combined story of the band’s experiences writing and playing their music and seems like the perfect place to start when establishing yourself on the scene. The lyrics ooze positive vibes that suggest an ‘anything can happen’ kind of attitude, one that Finding Bella should be taking right to the bank with this single.

In my eyes, the band have plenty to be “feeling pretty good” about, and I can’t wait to see what unique sounds these guys will come out with next.
