HONEYMOAN release new single ‘We’re on an Island, but it’s the UK’

Taken from their upcoming debut album, the indie-pop risers’ latest release is a follow up to previous single ‘Sit Right’.

London-based, South African indie pop risers HONEYMOAN have released the next single from their upcoming debut album Sorry Like You Mean It, titled We’re on an Island, but it’s the UK.

The band’s skill in producing catchy choruses, earworm tunes and impactful production continues on this heartfelt single, with layered guitars and synths creating a comfortably hopeful atmosphere throughout the track.

On the single, frontwoman Alison Rachel said: “This song just fell out of us in one afternoon, its simple synth lead and throwback 80s feel captivated us without need for much embellishment. The song is about the times we tell ourselves stories about the world to suit ourselves, and how we sometimes don’t want to know the truth because it’s too uncomfortable to face.”

Consisting of frontwoman Alison, multi-instrumentalist Skye McInnes and producer Josh Berry who also plays in the band, HONEYMOAN’s sound is a stirring mix of pop and rock thanks to the varying influences of each member’s songwriting style — Alison tends to lean towards pop, whilst guitarist Skye leans towards progressive rock.

Lyrically, however, their upcoming album will consistently deal with the themes of love, breakups and mental health issues within dating, which fans will be able to experience live at their recently announced UK and EU tour this October.

Sorry Like You Mean It is out September 29th and tickets for HONEYMOAN’s UK & EU tour are available here.
