sorebones share introspective new single ‘undermynose’
Fuzzy, heartfelt dream-pop for the quietly broken-hearted.
Drawing from the rock energy of The Smashing Pumpkins and Momma and the jangly indie-pop hooks of Peach Pit and JAWS, self-proclaimed noisy dream-pop band sorebones are back with their latest single, undermynose.
Recorded in just one day with producer Dave Sanderson (Reverend and The Makers, 65daysofstatic), undermynose sees the emerging Derbyshire band craft an earnest and introspective track about the quiet ache of realising you might not be enough for someone, no matter how deeply you care.
Opening with a bouncing bassline that instantly gets you moving, the song gradually layers in shimmering, 80s-inspired synths and fuzzed-out guitars to create a texturally rich soundscape that’s equal parts melodic and melancholic. Reminiscent of Wallows in its laid-back vocal delivery and understated charm, undermynose carries a bittersweet edge that echoes its lyrical vulnerability.
Authentic and unpretentious, the track showcases a band leaning into their influences while beginning to carve out a sound of their own. They’re not chasing a trend, just making the music they want to listen to. And that sincerity shines through on undermynose.
