Whitelands drop new track ‘Blankspace’ ahead of second album

‘Sunlight Echoes’, the group’s sophomore release, follows 2024’s ‘Night-bound Eyes Are Blind To The Day’, and is out January 30th.

The intriguingly formless title fits this track’s abyssian, shoegaze aesthetic; not quite full-on indie but sharing enough of the genre’s inherent pull to keep you thoroughly entertained for three minutes.

You can see the influences from shoegaze and dream-pop groups of the ‘90s, with frontman Etienne Quartey-Papafio delivering each biting verse with plenty of power and pathos. It’s a great track, and a great glimpse into Whitelands’ latest era.

Sunlight Echoes is out January 30th via Sonic Cathedral. Pre-order the album here.
