It’s been two short years since the release of Wunderhorse’s debut album and today he makes his long-awaited return with Midas. Despite this time away, the artist hasn’t stopped grinding on the live circuit, taking the album on tour and currently performing as support for beloved indie artist Declan McKenna.

With a busy festival schedule to look forward to, it’s only natural that Slater would need fresh material to excite the crowds. Midas is no doubt festival-ready, a song ready to be played to thousands of adoring fans and newcomers across the Summer, with a driving beat and feverish vocals, wavering in and out with precision.

Jacob Slater, the man behind Wunderhorse, is no stranger to punk-ish vocals, having once been the frontman of Dead Pretties before residing in Cornwall to recuperate away from the noise and get his head back together after a bad bout of burnout. After time away, he released a critically-acclaimed debut album and has gained incredible amounts of well-earned support.

Sure, the track comes in at around two minutes, but that’s enough time to make an impact, and one you won’t be forgetting any time soon.

Midas is out now via Communion Records.
