Led Zeppelin’s hard rock masterpiece ‘Physical Graffiti’ sees 50th Anniversary reissue
To celebrate half a century since the release of the group’s iconic double album, September promises deluxe 3LP reissue and a new 4-track Live EP.
Legendary pioneers of classic rock, Led Zeppelin, have announced a new live release to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their defining sixth album, Physical Graffiti. The new Live EP, out September 12th, will be available on both 12” vinyl and CD, as well as digital formats, and showcases four tracks from Zeppelin at their peak.
Split across both sides of the disc are live performances of In My Time of Dying, Trampled Under Foot (both from Earl’s Court, 1975), Sick Again and Kashmir (both Knebworth, 1979) — all songs from Led Zeppelin’s rich double album. The tracks appeared on 2003’s Led Zeppelin DVD, but otherwise have yet to see a CD, vinyl or digital release. September 12th changes all that.
The 50th anniversary of Zeppelin’s first double album is also celebrated with an updated edition of 2015’s Physical Graffiti ‘deluxe’ 3LP set, featuring a Companion Audio disc, and now a bonus replica promotional poster. The updated reissue also releases on September 12th. This marks an important milestone for one of the best double albums of all time, which saw the band on top form, delivering fifteen hard rock tracks — including the likes of ‘Kashmir’ and ‘Trampled Under Foot’. The album also boasted an intricate die-cut cover design, which notably led to a delayed release as it proved difficult to manufacture.
You can listen to Trampled Under Foot (Live from Earl’s Court, 1975 from the upcoming Live EP now. Both the new EP and updated 50th anniversary edition of the Physical Graffiti 3LP set are available for pre-order here.
