Tough Cookie announce debut EP ‘The Countryside Is Good For You’
The title track fits perfectly along the vibe they’ve curated so far.
Dwelling on good memories is what this song inspires, and it couldn’t be better for it.
Tough Cookie, a band that I’ve grown to be familiar with over the past few months, have once again knocked it out of the park with The Countryside Is Good For You. This track feels like the perfect backdrop to reminiscing about various summer adventures, and it comes as the middle of the summer does.
The instrumentals and production on this are really solid, and set the scene from the start of the track. The vocals are not heavy-handed and do everything in their power to add even more layers to an already wonderful track. Everything is given time to breathe and to mesh as a collective instead of sticking out, leading to something that is sonically pleasing and easy to listen to on repeat. This song feels like and cultivates the time of an era past.
There are three other familiar tracks regarding their song rollout on their newly announced debut EP, with those being Sandcastles 2008, Happiness, and Emory. All three of these tracks are phenomenal in their own rights, and with the addition of The Countryside Is Good For You being there, it adds another genuinely great track to what has already been a run of good music for this collective, and with more to come, there’s much to be excited about.
The Countryside Is Good For You is out October 10th via Gravity Records. Pre-order here.
