Mad Cool has announced its first wave of artists for its 2024 iteration. The festival will take place in the Villaverde district in Madrid from July 10th to the 13th. It will feature national and international acts across seven stages.

It will be the seventh time the festival has been held and will see the return of several artists: rock icons Pearl Jam, rock powerhouse Greta Van Fleet, pop superstar Dua Lipa, and British rockers Nothing But Thieves. Also featured on the 2024 lineup are The Smashing Pumpkins, Keane, Janelle Monáe, Bring Me The Horizon, Garbage, and more. Mad Cool 2024 also marks pop rocker Avril Lavigne’s return to Madrid for the first time in over 20 years as a headliner for its closing date. Alongside household names is the important act of Motxila 21, a band composed of fifteen young members with Down Syndrome and seven members who are volunteers. They will headline on the festival’s second day as a featured act to promote diversity and visibility for the community.

The festival has confirmed that it will expand on the stacked slate of artists for next year with another announcement of more artists at a later date. Starting in 2016, it has seen its share of large-scale and small, local acts across the years. Never shying away from any genre, it will span from acts in the electronic field, namely English musician Bonobo and Columbian act Bomba Estéreo, to critically acclaimed psychedelic soul band Black Pumas. All genres will have a spot in the line-ups each day so attendees can enjoy musical stylings from home and beyond.

Acts that will kick off the festival opening day include Tom Odell, James Arthur, Kenya Grace, Crawlers, Julieta, Swim School, Carlita, Kid Francescoli, Parra For Cuva, and Claudia León. Ticketing options include general admission and VIP for all four days. Find your tickets here.
