Only The Poets announce £1 tickets for upcoming gig at O2 Academy Brixton

Gig

The bold move is an attempt to make live music more universally accessible.

Reading-based alt-pop group Only The Poets have taken a stand against increasing ticket prices by making the historic move to headline O2 Academy Brixton for only £1 a ticket. When speaking about the pricing decision, frontman Tommy Longhurst said, “We wouldn’t have been able to see half the gigs we went to if ticket prices were what they are now, so we wanted to make sure that this show was open to everyone.” In addition to fighting for music accessibility, the band also sees this as an opportunity to give back to their fans.

To further their efforts, the band will also be donating £1 per ticket to the LIVE Trust, an organisation dedicated to supporting the UK’s live music and entertainment sector. Fans will still be charged additional £1 fees by the venue and ticketmaster, but both organisations have lowered their usual rates in solidarity with the band’s initiative.

The show will come just days after the release of their debut album And I’d Do it Again, which will be released on January 30th 2026.

Only The Poets are set to play O2 Academy Brixton on February 2nd 2026, with fan presale going live on September 11th and general sale on September 12th. Sign up to pre-sale here.
