After seven, going on eight years since the release of Passion Pit’s last studio album, Tremendous Sea of Love, the Massachusetts-based band plans to release music towards the end of this year.

Michael Angelakos, the singer-songwriter behind Passion Pit, has produced music for his project since 2007 with his initial EP Chunk of Change, which featured the tracks Better Things and Sleepyhead. Angelakos topped charts in the 2010s, creating a staple sound for the evolving indie electronica genre as he released studio albums Manners (2009), Gossamer (2012), and Kindred (2015).

Currently touring across the United States, the iconic indie-tronic band is adding nine more shows to its residency in New York at Deluxx Fluxx and joining line-ups alongside artists such as Sabrina Carpenter, Hozier, and Doja Cat at Austin City Limits in Texas.

These days, Passion Pit plans to return to its roots as he works towards his next studio album Nine Times Your Torch Song, planned to be released later this year.
