The Regrettes have announced that they will be calling it quits after nine years as a band. The current and final lineup consisting of Lydia Night, Genessa Gariano, Brooke Dickson, and Drew Thomsen will be separating to pursue personal projects moving forward. Announced via the band’s official Instagram on Tuesday morning, the decision was mutual across the band, with them still remaining good friends and supportive of each other.

The unfortunate announcement did come with one upside: they will be playing one last show together. The Regrettes: One Last Time will take place at The Fonda in Los Angeles on December 21st. The farewell show takes place in the band’s hometown of Los Angeles, with the slogan No Regrettes being the mantra of the event. No opening acts have been announced at this time.

The Regrettes released three albums and two EPs during their nine-year run, including their acclaimed final release Further Joy. Starting during the members’ teenage years, they grew up and grew musically via their musical releases. They went on to open for acclaimed rock and alternative acts like Sleigh Bells, Kate Nash, Twenty One Pilots, My Chemical Romance, and Yungblud. Past members of the band included drummers Maxx Morando and Marlhy Murphy, as well as bassists Sage Chavis and Violet Mayugba; who have gone on to make names for themselves in their own right.

While it is a shocking announcement and a major heartbreak for fans, the band members have expressed their gratitude and appreciation for their years making music together. Whatever the future brings for Night, Gariano, Dickson, and Thomsen, it’s sure to be great.

Tickets go on sale today (November 17th) here.
