Skunk Anansie and Garbage announce headline show at Southampton Summer Sessions
The ‘90s rock/grunge powerhouses team up for a co-headlining show at the city’s iconic Guildhall Square.
In the latest line-up reveal for 2026’s Southampton Summer Sessions presented by TK Maxx, legendary rock/punk band Skunk Anansie and alt-rock’s Garbage are teaming up for a dual-headlining show. Like every artist at the now legendary Summer Sessions, they will take to the stage in the city’s Guildhall Square on Tuesday, 23rd June 2026.
Skunk Anansie are known for their hard-hitting, politically biting alt-rock anthems like Weak and Hedonism (Just Because You Feel Good). Fronted by the enigmatic Skin, the group played at Gunnersbury Park back in August, opening for The Smashing Pumpkins. In June next year, they will bring their enduring classics to Southampton alongside fellow ‘90s favourites, Garbage. Lead vocalist Shirley Manson and her bandmates are responsible for a 1995 self-titled album, which earned them hits Stupid Girl and Only Happy When It Rains.
The two musical tour-de-forces join an already glittering roster for Southampton’s third Summer Sessions in a row, behind acts like Billy Ocean, Pete Tong’s Ibiza Classics and Alex James’ Britpop Classical. Also delighting the city square are Paul Weller, Deacon Blue and Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark / OMD, who were behind the massive 1980 hit Enola Gay.
