After a string of gut-wrenching, earnest EPs and singles, Sophie May has announced her long-awaited debut album, Stars And Teeth. The Londoner found success on social media last year, after sharing the tale of No More Birthdays, which was originally written for the Chicken Run sequel Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, but My Sweet Baby by Paloma Faith was chosen instead, resulting in Sophie receiving an outpouring of love and sharing the track anyway.

2024’s Deep Sea Creatures EP saw the release of Brian Cox with a feature from the man himself and Tiny Dictator, an open and honest narration on what it feels like to live with OCD and is quite possibly the perfect representation.

Intricate and intimate is what Sophie does best, and has proven such since the release of her first single With The Band, followed by her first EP, You Do Not Have To Be Good, which shone the spotlight on her with Lover Boy, an open letter about the ending of a relationship — something Sophie is no stranger to writing about.

Alongside the album announcement comes the second track to be pulled from her debut, following September’s Dog Body. Another Song for the End of the World sees Sophie at her very best once more, stripped back to beautiful guitar, before accompanying instruments are slowly introduced, with her vocals taking centre stage. Sophie sings “Who knows where it all goes? The things we said, the love we shared” over acoustic guitar, delivering a track that toes the line between jazz and folk, joining the two together in perfect harmony.

Sophie May’s debut album, Stars And Teeth, will land on April 9th.
