Spanish Horses announce debut EP ‘Small Notions’
The news is accompanied by the band’s second single, ‘Some People’.
Following the release of their debut single Hey Man (Hey Man!) and support slots with Bleech 9:3 and Little Grandad, Spanish Horses have announced that their debut EP, Small Notions, will be out on November 27th via So Young Records.
The news arrives alongside the band’s second single, Some People — a vibrant and whimsically optimistic track that is reminiscent of sunny days and late summer evenings.
Speaking about the EP, frontman Tom Onezime said: “Small Notions was written to manifest change in our lives, as a means to jump forward and break out. The songs were written shortly before the studio sessions, creating an urgency to the sound and a fragility that we really value. Small Notions is a product of ambition, sincerity and simplicity that we hope will reach the entire world.”
Consisting of band members of British, French, Cambodian and Lebanese descent, Spanish Horses formed in Paris before relocating to London, where they signed a record deal with So Young Records.
“We were working, hustling and partying all over town without skipping a beat,” Spanish Horses said of their time in Paris. “We had nothing to lose; everything was fun and time was no concept for a while. We weren’t exactly disciplined, healthy or functioning. It was like a second adolescence. It was a good time. The move to London was motivated by the feeling of being stuck in a glass box. We had done all we could in the city and moving to London became the obvious next step.”
The band will stage a series of one-off events and parties for members of the Spanish Horses community over the next few months. Sign up to Spanish Horses’ mailing list here to stay up to date with events near you.
