At this point, you’ve probably heard of The Last Dinner Party, whether that’s through the delicious means of word-of-mouth, petulant X (nee-Twitter) folk who hate to see anyone succeed or just simply because the algorithm knows you should. They’re a force to be reckoned with and it’s no surprise that the band have just announced details of their debut album.

Having only dropped their first studio-recorded track this year, it may seem worryingly early for the five-piece to gear up for their debut full-length but fret not, as TLDP grafted it out on the live circuit long before Nothing Matters captivated our collective hearts and shot to over a million streams.

Thanks in part to their clear vision for the band and their cleverly crafted aesthetic, the band have seen a meteoric rise to the top we’ve not seen since TikTok was still Musical.ly. In the time of ten second clips of songs and short attention spans, the band have managed to grip the nation with their witticism and pure, unadulterated passion for their craft.

When teasing the release of newest track On Your Side, their Instagram comments were notably flooded with “I’ve been waiting for this to be released”, alluring to the fact it’s one you must hear live. If we’ve come to learn anything about the gracious band, it is that they will produce one hell of a video alongside it.

Prelude to Ecstasy is out February 2nd via Island Records.
