The Smile is much more than a Radiohead side project, but an artistically brilliant band in its own right, even when you look past the masterminds behind the collaboration. Today they announce their second album Wall of Eyes, a follow-up to their debut album A Light for Attracting Attention, released last year. The announcement comes with the release of the titular track, Wall of Eyes, with a music video directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, who has worked with guitarist Jonny Greenwood for the best part of a decade, most recently on the score for coming-of-age movie Liquorice Pizza.

Wall of Eyes sees the trio get mellow; taking it back to a slower, rhythmic sound that steps away from the leering shadow of Radiohead and the powers that be. The track and it’s eight-minute long predecessor, Bending Hectic, promise the upcoming album to be something of a beauty and will, without a single doubt, show up on 2024 best album lists across the board.

Tracklist:

Wall Of Eyes
Teleharmonic
Read The Room
Under Our Pillows
Friend Of A Friend
I Quit
Bending Hectic
You Know Me!

Wall of Eyes is out January 26th via XL Recordings. Pre-order here.
