Way Out West 2026: The Swedish festival announces massive line-up
The Cure, Gorillaz and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds confirmed as headliners.
Set in Gothenburg’s Slottsskogen Park, Way Out West has built a reputation as one of Europe’s most widely respected festivals. The Swedish event is known for blending rock, pop, hip-hop and electronic music while extending beyond the main site with its Stay Out West programme, hosting late-night shows across venues in central Gothenburg.
Past editions have featured major names including Prince, Blur, Wu-Tang Clan and Chase & Status, and the 2026 line-up looks set to continue that legendary run. This year’s headliners bring serious weight: The Cure return as one of alternative music’s most influential bands, still capable of drawing huge, cross-generational crowds. Gorillaz bring their genre-hopping live show to Gothenburg, while Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds promise one of the weekend’s most intense and talked-about performances.
The wider line-up balances established artists with newer names. Rising acts like Geese, Sombr and Dijon are set to make their mark, while electronic music also remains a core part of the festival’s identity. The XX are scheduled to reunite for 2026 dates, marking one of the festival’s standout bookings, alongside Four Tet and dance music pioneer Moby.
Mainstream pop also features heavily: Zara Larsson, following a major comeback in 2025, will be joined by Lorde and rising star Oklou, who had a breakout year blending soft vocals with electronic pop to commercial success. Hip-hop and R&B are represented by Dijon and Clipse, with the latter returning after a highly praised run that placed them at the top of many 2025 album-of-the-year lists.
With more names still to come, Way Out West 2026 is shaping up to be one of the festival’s strongest editions in recent years.
Way Out West is set to return from August 13th to the 15th. Tickets can be bought here.
