Brother Wallace has released a string of singles recently, all taken from his debut album Electric Love, set to release on May 8th. Opening with a few lone bars of keyboard before evolving into a full-blown melody, Gone With The Wind uses Brother Wallace’s silky smooth voice, paired with a catchy bassline, and carries off a kind of charm that soul seems to emit almost anytime you play it.

Following a relatively simple structure, the track — aided by equally joyful backing singers — almost contrasts his two other releases from the upcoming album. Who’s That?, which will act as the opening track from the debut, sees Brother Wallace delivering a much more vocal-driven performance, and the song leans more brass-heavy. The titular song from Electric Love uses keys to hammer down the melody, along with an isolated guitar riff embedded into the chorus, and I can just imagine this being incredible to witness live.

All the singles seem to take on a slightly different angle than the last, and this is really refreshing to see. Brother Wallace shows not only his adaptability to different structures and vocal techniques, but also shows that, no matter what he performs, his voice takes centre stage, commanding the attention of anyone who listens to it.

Electric Love is out May 8th via ATO Records.
