Chest share obscenely addictive new single ‘MACHINE’

It’s a song so hooky; we can’t stop thinking about it.

Following a string of sold-out headline shows in Norwich and London, as well as support slots with the likes of The Lounge Society, BILK and PleasureInc, Norwich-born, London-based newcomers Chest have returned with their dizzying new single, MACHINE.

Blistering with jagged guitars and pulsing momentum, MACHINE dives headfirst into the blue-lit fever dream of our screen-saturated age. From the manic fixation on followers, likes and views to the surreal habit of turning to AI for life advice, Chest capture the disorientation of being chronically online, all while wryly admitting “It’s all a bit obscene.”

But while its themes spiral, its sound soars. Glinting with a pop sheen and a thumpingly danceable rhythm, Machine rides a euphoric high above all its lyrical unease. There are definite echoes of The 1975 in its glossy, existential pop leanings, but Chest never fall into imitation. They channel that influence into something bold, addictive, and entirely their own.

Lyrically sharp and musically irresistible, the London-based five-piece weave self-aware storytelling with biting cultural commentary to deliver a hook-heavy anthem for the digitally disoriented. It’s a confident leap from a band who’ve refined their voice and vision into a fully formed indie rock sound – and with more new music on the way, Chest are definitely ones to watch.

MACHINE is out now.
