Gypsy Pistoleros proclaim ‘I’m the Prince of the Damned’ on sleazy new glam rocker
The latest single from upcoming LP ‘Dark Faerie Tales’ follows last year’s gospel to the glam genre ‘Church of the Pistoleros’.
The opening of Gypsy Pistoleros’ latest cut is the grooviest piece of modern-day glam I’ve heard in a long time, somewhere between Rob Zombie and T. Rex.
It struts as it swipes — I’m the Prince of the Damned feels like a Slade song if Noddy Holder dropped the top hat and mutton chops for leather and a speedball. It’s addictive and groovy to the point of being lascivious, following the same rip-roaring, carefree indulgence of prior single Dark Faerie Tales.
The band’s upcoming album could well be the genre’s modern-day Permission to Land. There’s a little symphonic metal here, a lot of glam rock and total musical mayhem. I love it.
Dark Faerie Tales is out April 17th via The New Church Records.
