‘I Need Nothing’ from Native Sun is an absolute groove

Native Sun, based in the musical hotbed that is New York City, put out I Need Nothing, a track that has a very laid-back feel to it, blending and morphing a kaleidoscope of rock subgenres, all perfectly fitting into three minutes.

This song would not be out of place at all within some sort of snowboarding or skateboarding video game from the early 2000s, as that is very much the vibe that emanates from this song, in the absolute best way possible. You can almost feel the experience of shifting through an older video game, with this song being on the soundtrack. You truly do feel the sentimentality of a time past through this song, and the blend of eras both old and new does this song great justice, as do the vocal and instrumental aspects. You can really feel the influences of 90s and 2000s era rock and punk, and everything blends together in a way complementary to what’s going on in the track.

With the group now signed to indie label TODO, this will most certainly open up new avenues and new ways for them to explore their sound further, with this track being a great offering.

I Need Nothing is out now via TODO.
