Kamran Khan drops new single ‘Daddy, Just Like You’
It’s another preview from his upcoming debut album, ‘I Came From Nowhere & Nowhere Is Where I Am Going’.
London-based singer-songwriter Kamran Khan spills his pains and sorrows through a mirage of optimism via new song Daddy, Just Like You. Light harmonies of drums and guitars are layered with delicate lyricism, and the tones are what make this track so emotionally raw.
The song comes from his upcoming debut LP, I Came From Nowhere & Nowhere Is Where I Am Going, which will consist of twelve tracks. Khan has released a sprinkling of upcoming tracks from the LP, including Adventures in Monotony, Personally and last month’s release Goodnight — each carry their own accumulation of regal tones and heartfelt instrumentals in their own right.
Having worked quietly but visibly among other indie aficionados — The Japanese House, Murkage Dave and Let’s Eat Grandma, to name a few — Khan steps forward into the spotlight to explore personal themes of fragmented personal relationships, substance abuse, and life’s challenges.
Unleashing a vulnerable and intimately fragile side of him we haven’t seen before, through solo work and alongside his band pencil, Daddy, Just Like You offers a gentle preview of what’s to come in his upcoming LP. The track carries an emotional upheaval of suppressed traumas and grievances, laden with melancholic tones, warm guitars and a comprehensive collection of bright indie instrumentals.
I Came From Nowhere & Nowhere Is Where I Am Going is out on September 25th via AWAL.
