Debut single ‘Nobody Knows My Name’ from Morenike is a vocally chilling hidden gem
People are bound to know the name Morenike after taking one listen, as entrancing and enchanting as this track is.

Getting to look at a debut single from anyone is like uncovering something new for the first time, and you’re never quite sure what to expect going in, but with Morenike and Nobody Knows My Name, this is a phenomenal debut track, not only for how it sounds production-wise, but the real highlight of the track being the absolutely beautiful vocals that pierce through the heart akin to a hot knife through butter.
The production shifts from this sombre, slow build to something a tad more up-tempo without turning into something too fast, and then goes back to this sombre feeling to once again let the vocals breathe.
And the vocals — there aren’t enough words to truly grasp the feeling of hearing this for the first time. They pull this feeling of a beautiful sadness, icy-cold but without going too far in one direction. It’s a perfect storm of vocal beauty and is something that you cannot sing the praises of enough as is.
This is a wonderful debut from Morenike. Someone who has only just put their first track on streaming and starting out like this is bound to have attention come their way, and the masses should absolutely take a listen, as someone with this level of vocal talent cannot go unheard.
