Oh Dear strike gold on luscious ‘Stuck On You’

The duo prove their talent for charming lyricism and ethereal vocals on new track.

Katie King and George Parnell AKA Oh Dear are delightful as always on their latest single Stuck On You, a track that would have found it’s place on the soundtrack of Netflix’s One Day adaptation if the show wasn’t set in the 80s. The talented writing duo once again have created a song that is effortless in it’s elements; lyrics, percussion, vocals and just about everything else, including seamless production and mixing (all done by the pair, with the mastering done by Felix Davis).

Perfectly timed for Spring, as the trees see their first blossoms, Stuck On You will have you pretending your life is a movie (and you’re the main character, obviously). It’s safe to say Oh Dear deliver every time, with previous singles Silver Lining, Sweet and Heartbeat (which should be on the Heartstopper soundtrack!) being some of the best guitar-pop this scene has witnessed in a hot minute.

Nobody is doing it like them — and it’s safe to say they’re both seasoned pros, having been members of rock band Valeras and Katie playing guitar for Liverpool indie-pop star Pixey. Despite these impressive feats, the most impressive of all is how many earworms one band can produce with just two minds.

If you have the chance to see these charmers live, take it.
