Phoebe Green shares first love song ‘I Could Love You’

The Manchester-based musician gives us another glimpse of her upcoming EP.

Phoebe Green, a newly-independent musician based in Manchester, is as earnest as always; opening the doors to her relationship and letting us take a peek into their world. I Could Love You is Phoebe’s first love song and a gorgeous, hypnotising ballad that marks a true return from the Northern musician, whose debut album Lucky Me was released on Chess Club Records back in 2022.

Written about holding herself back in the initial days of her relationship with fellow Manchester musician Olive Rees (who is one third of Nightbus), the track details falling in love slowly, knowingly, and beating the stereotypes that women loving other women often face.

Ethereal lyrics fill the space, saying it all with unabashed honesty: “I shouldn’t speak right now, I shouldn’t touch you / But if you asked me now, I could love you.” Known for their diary-entry like and very real lyrics, Phoebe’s carved out a name for herself in the UK music scene thanks to her introspective, chameleon-like sound that started as soft vocals on acoustic guitar to a polished electronic sound that sees her develop and change with ease, never one to stay comfortable within one genre for too long.

With the promise of more music to come, we can’t wait to see where Phoebe takes their sound next.
