Teenage Waitress unveils poppy new single ‘Disconnect’
Southampton-born musician Daniel Ash releases the second single from his upcoming third album, Upstairs to Finish a Dream.
Teenage Waitress, the electro-pop outfit from the mastermind of Daniel Ash, has returned to drop a new single, Disconnect. Off the back of Blue Tick Burning — released back in June — Disconnect is the latest taste of his next album, Upstairs to Finish a Dream, out October 10th.
Still in the same, formidable vein as the rest of Teenage Waitress’ work — a little indie rock meets bedroom pop — this new single offers up something fresh for the last weeks of summer. It’s a jangly, ‘90s-influenced pop number that would take radio waves by storm if Oasis, the Stereophonics and Travis were still in the charts. Well, two out of three still are, so there’s every hope. Disconnect focuses on, well, disconnecting from the office drone life and Instagram engagement spiral that takes hold of everything in the 21st century. It’s got a good message, a ridiculously catchy chorus, and the kind of summer vibe you can’t refuse. Come disconnect with us.
Upstairs to Finish a Dream is out October 10th.
