The New York Salsa Company charms and disturbs in psychedelic single ‘This Machine Won’t Stop’

This Machine Won’t Stop, the lead single from The New York Salsa Company’s upcoming album Our Landscape Is Now, promises something dark and psychedelic. From the mind of the project’s Adam Smyth, the single packs a riff crying out from the darkness, the introduction to an alt-rock anthem that swaggers as much as batters at the concrete walls of your skull.
At under three minutes, the track feels like 75% build-up, before dropping to a quiet lull and then returning in a twisted wall of sound. It’s a bit grunge, a bit punky, oddly hypnotic and profoundly relentless. If this is the first taste of what’s to come, there’s a good chance The New York Salsa Company’s album will become a dark, distorted delicacy.
