Theo Pyke is an artist emerging from Istanbul, Turkey, who creates music that explores the quiet moments after the noise fades. The single is a soundtrack perfect for a drive home at 3am.

On the song, Theo said, “I wrote this song to capture the specific loneliness of being ‘the guy who eats those stale chips after the party’ — waiting for a call that won’t come, yet feeling strangely at peace with the mess”.

What stood out most when listening to this song for the first time was the arrangement and the way the instruments are introduced throughout. The direction feels strong and intentional — it’s a slow track, but it still carries a spark that keeps it engaging. I love how the artist’s vocals sit within the production and move naturally with the song’s energy.

I was instantly hooked in the first 26 seconds, just from hearing the guitar instrumental, so much so that I had to rewind the song. That opening sets the tone for everything that follows, and from that moment, you know you’re about to be taken on a sonic journey.

There’s a beautiful sense of reflection throughout the song, as Theo describes how he sees himself through the relationship breaking down. You can hear this in lines like, “Guess you will leave me like the others and let me go,” and through the repetition of “I’m” — “I’m a burden… I’m all alone… I’m a mess.” Together, these moments highlight how hard humans can be on themselves when a relationship breaks down, while also reminding us that it’s okay to feel broken.

What’s really cool about this artist is that he writes, records, and mixes everything himself. He even refers to himself as a bit of a control freak in this aspect, but you can really hear the effort he puts into his music, which comes through seamlessly in his ethereal vocals, making you feel like you’re on a cloud, dreaming.

Together with Mustafa Karakışla, who composed the track and lyrics, the instrumentation, pacing, and overall flow come together seamlessly.

Nothing Personal is out now.
