vegas water taxi are back with the new crushing breakup anxiety single ‘Jerry’
The band return with a new track.
London’s vegas water taxi returns with brand-new track jerry, following the success of chateau photo. The track features their signature country twang, powerful guitar riffs and an inevitably catchy chorus, continuing to showcase the band’s pretty unique twist with indie and country music throughout their tracks.
Formed in 2022 by former Lazarus Kane frontman Ben Hambro, vegas water taxi swiftly gained attention with their debut album things are gonna be alright back in 2023, which was re-released as an expanded edition in June 2025. The band has since performed at many notable venues, including The Lexington and KOKO in London, and participated in SXSW London this year.
The track kicks off with that signature country twang we loved on chateau photo, but this time it’s got a bit more pep in its step. Guitar riffs burst in, setting the stage for a classic cowboy-style vocal that perfectly captures the meaning behind the track, the crushing anxiety that you feel post-breakup.
The rhythm is ridiculously catchy, the riffs even catchier, and the chorus is addictive and impossible not to sing along to. The bridge throws in a lively mix of indie guitar with a country beat, constantly surprising listeners throughout the entire track.
It’s a song you can sway to, dance to, or belt out in the car, a heart-on-your-sleeve, catchy number that proves country twang plus earworm-y indie hooks can, in fact, equal pure unbridled line-dancing joy.
