‘Wanna Play’ by Georgia: A very upbeat Summer vibe

The self-produced (and co-produced) track is the first single to come from the Londonite since 2024, providing a cool boost to the pop genre in the process.

Georgia, out of London, has broken the year-long timespan between her last single to now with her newest track, Wanna Play. This is three minutes of pure fun and whimsy in song form, as the lyrics are very lighthearted in nature, with the basic premise being about having the best time you possibly can.

This track feels very similar to that of girli and the style of music she was doing in 2019, but in the best way possible. It’s a very “let’s forget the worries we have and just have a good time” track, with that fact being made apparent with the lines: “Just play if you wanna dance, if you wanna, hey / And we go on all day, I’ll make you laugh if you wanna play”, making that thought process more concrete.

This track brings some cool replay value in the sense that it’s just to have a great time, and this is a very interesting start if an album announcement and more singles are to come on the way. There’s a certain sound within this that’s just enjoyable to continue to listen to and will be exciting for the future.

Wanna Play is out now via Domino Records.
