American Football announce 2026 World Tour
The iconic band are heading on the road this year.
Legends of the Midwest Emo scene American Football announce they are embarking on a world tour in 2026. Starting off in May in the US, they will then be making trips around the globe on a four-month run with shows in Canada, the UK and Europe. This tour will be the band’s first in a couple of years; they last toured in 2024 for the 25th anniversary of their album LP1.
Across the four months, they are going to be joined by four different support acts. In May, with shows predominantly on the West Coast of America, they are joined by the jazz-influenced indie rock musician Mei Semones. During the European leg in June, they will be joined by Manchester-based Marconi Union, whose song Weightless underwent a study conducted by Mindlab International, and they found that it might be the most relaxing song ever recorded, with studies indicating a 65% stress reduction rate when listening to it. So, if you’re ever stressed, give it a try. In July, the band are joined by indie artist Ian Sweet, and for the final leg in August, with shows in the Northern parts of the US, they are joined by Montreal's own Afternoon Bike Ride.
As part of the ticket sales for this tour, American Football have partnered up with PLUS1 to donate £1 from every ticket sold to Safe Passage International & The Illinois Coalition for Immigration & Refugee Rights. Organisations set up to defend immigrant rights and support deportees, migrants and refugees. The band finds this important and uses this as a response to the deadly violence and intimidation around the US provoked by ICE.
