Almost one year after the release of the release of her acclaimed album Desire, I Want to Turn Into You, Caroline Polachek has released her collaboration with fellow indie artist Weyes Blood. Titled Butterfly Net, the single was teased the day before with posts on Polachek and Weyes Blood’s social media with two images that appeared to be connected. The images would later be revealed to be part of the single’s artwork. It was performed on stage during part of Caroline Polachek’s festival run and then reworked into its final product.

Clocking in at five and a half minutes, Butterfly Net is a spine-tingling, atmospheric experience that blends acoustic and electronic elements to enhance Polachek’s signature sound. A song about catching the love of the one that has become a muse, the blend of Polachek and Blood’s voices meld to create beautiful harmonies while showcasing each artist’s abilities. A delightful continuation of Desire’s sonics, the collaboration makes a wonderful addition to a fantastic album full of delectable audio scapes and dreamy production.

Alongside the track’s release, the singer announced there would be a deluxe edition of Desire, I Want to Turn Into You. The Everasking Edition will be released on the first anniversary of the album’s release. No further information about what the new version will contain has been provided, although expected before its release.

Butterfly Net is available on steaming via Perpetual Novice.
