They’re back, they’re back, they’re back! Irish post-punk band Fontaines D.C. have announced their much-awaited 4th album Romance, which will grace our ears this Summer. I thought Bridgerton would be the star of my summer but, boy, was I wrong. The band took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce the album, their first news since 2022’s album Skinty Fia.

Not only is there a new album on the way but they low-key dropped a single on us; portraying a new, mature sound, setting up the promising expectation that this album is set to be their most assured and adventurous record yet.

Leaving the album announcement to simmer, the band announced today they are set to embark on a headline tour in late November / early December with special guest Sorry. Just in case you want to see them again after the festival season, including a cheeky stop in the iconic fields of Leeds once again. If you pre-order the album before April 23rd, you’ll get first access to tour tickets whilst general sale hits at 10am Friday 26th April. See you there!

Romance is out August 23rd via XL Recordings.
