Blackwater Holylight’s fever dream turned new single ‘Bodies’

The single teases the rock trio’s upcoming fourth full-length release, ‘Not Here Not Gone’.

Blackwater Holylight’s new single won’t be for everyone. But for the ones who stay, their patience will be rewarded. It’s maybe a touch too obvious to mention the likes of Evanescence at their peak — or Ghost’s Meliora era — but there are certainly touches of those veterans here; in a grand, melodic dirge that pummels and violently beats as much as it proves sonically rich and nuanced.

In moments of choral splendour, Blackwater Holylight deliver some of the best music moments of the new year, and straddle the line masterfully between noise and doom metal. Bodies is compelling, if a battering display of power, willing you to get back up and play it all over again, no matter the bruises.

Not Here Not Gone is out January 30th via Suicide Squeeze Records. Pre-order the album here.
