King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard release thumping new track ‘Kill for the Steel’
With scarce lyrics and jungle rave beats, the Aussie act lean further into their modular synthesizer set up for new album ‘Alien Metal’.

Everyone’s favourite multi-genre band, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, are back with another surprise new single from their upcoming album, Alien Metal.
True to previous singles Level 5 and Alien Metal, latest track Kill For The Steel is a cryptic mix of jungle and rave, as a heavily modified voice repeats in the background, “We don’t wish death / We don’t wish death upon you / We don’t wish any bad luck or any ill will / But we will kill for the steel”.
For keen followers of the once psych metal band, Kill For The Steel is further proof that the group’s upcoming album will embrace all things rave, jungle and house, as its members have increasingly embraced a modular synth set-up (called ‘Nathan’) over their past few tours, particularly since the release of 2023’s The Silver Cord.
The album drops tomorrow, leaving fans excited, with the latest single offering more vibrant, politically-tinged beats from the alternative titans. Between new shows announced every week and an endless stream of music, Gizz show no signs of slowing down; in fact, this strange machine is still heating up.
