Bristol’s Polhawan drop new single ‘No Sweat’

The single, written by Polhawan’s sole member Tim Rowing-Parker, is the first taste of the project’s upcoming EP, ‘Wild Mountain Time’.

Cards on the table, I like indie rock that’s a bit weird. Polhawan’s No Sweat fits the bill perfectly, listing verses out of Billy Joel’s We Didn’t Start the Fire set to a subdued, almost muted indie number. It’s at once a slacker-rock track for the inward and the introverted, whilst sounding mega blasted on the Bluetooth speaker.

There’s a kind of hypnotic rhythm to the track, too, that solidifies Polhawan as one to look out for. On a scale of Fairport Convention to contemporaries pôt-pot, No Sweat is firmly in the middle — and it’s a nifty little equinox.

Wild Mountain Time is out May 14th via Breakfast Records.
