SOFY leans into the whimsical side of pop on new single ‘DooYaa’
The singer released the latest single from her upcoming debut album and announced a UK and Europe tour.
SOFY has been releasing music for nearly 5 years, and it’s interesting to see how her music has evolved and changed over the course of this period. Her latest single DooYaa is like some of the biggest voices of pop (think Olivia Rodrigo). With a steady guitar melody at the centre of it, and her delicate vocals dancing over the top, the song comes to a head in the closing 30-seconds, with a brilliant explosion of drums and heartfelt lyrics. Coming in at only 2-minutes long, it’s a song that both starts and ends with a great bit of instrumentation, and it’s a great new single from her debut album — How To Perform Magic, which was announced along with this single’s release.
Not only is there a new album, but SOFY is also going out on tour in October and November around the UK and Europe. Playing in some amazing venues like EartH (London), Brudenell Social Club (Leeds), and wrapping up the tour in Paradiso (Amsterdam), DooYaa shows that the singer is leaning into a more whimsical style of music, one which will translate brilliantly to live venues I’m sure.
How To Perform Magic is set for release on September 25th. Pre-order here. Tickets for her UK/EU tour are available here.
