Emerging indie rock four-piece, The Maddocks, have put out a double A-side, Sheela / Liminal, and it’s a whole lot of fun. Musically, both tracks are sides of the same coin; shimmering wonder-rock for the masses and the big arenas; huge choruses and open-top hooks.

Sheela promises the best of established acts Blossoms and Circa Waves - it’s the perfect tonic for a fading summer, holding on to the best of what those long, hot nights bring.

Liminal, meanwhile, with its pulsing backbeat and distorted licks, is pure, classic indie rock and nothing less. Together, both tracks make one hell of a double A-side and promise esoteric pop-rock for both the devout and the unconverted.

Sheela / Liminal is out now.
